USS HAMPTON SSN 767 Leaves Today on WESTPAC (Ahh the Memories) DRILLS,DRILLS,DRILLS

NAVAL BASE POINT LOMA, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2010) – Children of Sailors stationed aboard USS Hampton (SSN 767) look on as the submarine prepares to depart for its six-month Southwest Asia deployment.
LA-class submarines are flexible platforms that can be called upon to conduct a multitude of missions including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, strike warfare, special operations, irregular warfare, strike group operations, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
USS Hampton, commissioned November 16, 1993, represents four U.S. cities: Hampton, New Hampshire; Hampton, Iowa; Hampton, South Carolina; and Hampton, Virginia.
